A relaxing babymoon stay at the Inn at Celebration in Florida. Explore the lakeside trails, farmers’ market, charming shops, and the history of Disney’s Celebration Town.

For couples looking for a quiet, charming escape just minutes from Orlando’s theme parks, The Inn at Celebrationoffers a surprisingly peaceful retreat. Located in the heart of Celebration, Florida – a picturesque town originally developed by the Walt Disney Company – the hotel blends small-town charm with boutique comfort. We spent one relaxing night here for our babymoon, and it ended up being the perfect slow-paced getaway before welcoming our baby.
Celebration itself is designed to feel like a nostalgic American town, complete with tree-lined streets, lakeside walking paths, and a small but lively downtown area filled with cafés, boutiques, and local shops. The Inn sits right along Lake Rianhard, making it a beautiful base for exploring both the town and the nearby parks.
Arrival and First Impressions

We arrived around 5 PM, just as the late afternoon sun was settling across the lake. One of the first things you notice about Celebration is how calm everything feels. Even though you’re only about 15–20 minutes from the energy of the theme parks, the atmosphere here is noticeably slower.
After checking in, we dropped our bags in the room and immediately headed out to explore.
The hotel sits directly along Celebration’s lakeside walking path, a scenic paved trail that wraps around Lake Rianhard. This pathway is one of the town’s highlights, and it connects much of the residential neighborhood with the downtown district.
Walking along the path, we passed beautifully maintained homes, quiet docks along the water, and shady oak trees draped with Spanish moss. It feels almost like stepping into a storybook version of a Florida neighborhood. Everything is thoughtfully planned, from the landscaping to the architectural styles of the homes.
Celebration was designed with this type of walkability in mind, and it shows. Sidewalks and trails link nearly every part of the town, encouraging people to get outside and explore.
Evening Walk Through Downtown Celebration

Around 7 PM, we made our way back toward the hotel room to relax for the evening.
Instead of heading out for dinner, we decided to keep things simple.
I ordered room service from the hotel, choosing a light dinner of a salad and fries. Meanwhile, Katie used DoorDash to order one of her favorite comfort meals from Bimimi Korean Restaurant.
While we waited for the food to arrive, we decided to head back outside for another short walk.
Downtown Celebration is small but charming. The main street area sits right beside the lake and includes several restaurants, shops, and local businesses. In the evening, the lighting around the buildings and along the sidewalks gives everything a warm, welcoming glow.
We walked past the boutiques and small storefronts, eventually reaching the historic Celebration Theater, which sits at the end of the street. The theater has long been part of the town’s entertainment scene, hosting movies and events over the years.
Along the way we stopped in a few shops, including one that caught our attention called Mythic Fly Shop.
While chatting with the owner, we learned that the shop had just recently started offering breakfast – though it still opens later in the morning, around 10 AM. It was a fun little discovery and a reminder of how small-town Celebration still feels despite being located near one of the busiest tourist areas in the world.
After our walk, we returned to the hotel just as our food arrived.
A Quiet Night In

Dinner that night was simple but perfect.
We brought everything back up to the room and ate inside the hotel. Between the comfortable atmosphere of the room and the peaceful surroundings outside, it made for a really relaxing evening.
One of the nicest things about staying in Celebration is that there’s no rush. Unlike many Orlando-area hotels where the energy is all about rope drop and park schedules, this stay felt intentionally slow.
After dinner we settled in and turned in for the night.
Morning in Celebration
Because this stay happened during the spring daylight savings change, we woke up slightly later than expected. The clocks had jumped forward overnight, so the morning started a bit differently than planned.
By the time we were up and ready, it was about 9 AM.
We headed downstairs and grabbed breakfast at the hotel.
I ordered a pesto panini sandwich along with a cup of coffee, which turned out to be a great start to the day. It was warm, fresh, and exactly the kind of relaxed breakfast you want during a quiet getaway.
But the timing of our visit ended up working out perfectly for another reason.
Exploring the Celebration Farmers Market

Since it was Sunday morning, the Celebration Farmers Market had just opened.
Held along the lakeside promenade each weekend, the farmers’ market brings together local vendors selling everything from fresh pastries to handmade crafts.
We walked down toward the market and immediately noticed how lively the area had become. Small white tents lined the street and the lakeside walkway, with vendors setting up displays of baked goods, coffee, jewelry, and specialty foods.
Katie quickly found a stand selling fresh baklava, which she couldn’t resist trying.
Another booth was serving specialty coffee drinks, where she ordered a banana-flavored coffee that turned out to be surprisingly good. It had a smooth sweetness that paired perfectly with the pastry.
One of the best parts of markets like this is simply wandering between booths. Each stand had something a little different – from artisan soaps to handmade crafts and baked treats.
With the lake just a few steps away and the morning sun reflecting off the water, the setting made the experience even better.
A Final Walk Around the Lake

After exploring the farmers market, we took another slow walk along the lakeside paths.
Celebration’s trail system loops around the water and through several neighborhoods, making it easy to extend a walk as long or short as you want.
The scenery changes depending on where you are on the path. Some sections run directly along the lake with open water views, while others wind through quiet residential areas filled with colorful homes and shaded sidewalks.
Because this was a babymoon trip, we intentionally kept the day relaxed.
Instead of rushing around or packing in activities, we spent the rest of the morning resting at the hotel and enjoying the calm atmosphere.
Sometimes the best part of a trip is simply slowing down.
The History of Celebration, Florida

Celebration has an interesting backstory that makes the town even more unique.
The community was originally developed in the 1990s by the Walt Disney Company as part of a concept known as “New Urbanism.” The goal was to design a town that encouraged walkability, community interaction, and traditional neighborhood design.
Disney partnered with urban planners and architects to create a town inspired by classic American small towns.
Homes were designed in several architectural styles, including:
- Colonial
- Victorian
- Mediterranean
- Coastal
The downtown area was planned as a central gathering place, with restaurants, shops, and offices located around the lake.
Even the town’s layout was carefully designed to encourage people to walk or bike rather than rely entirely on cars.
Over the years Celebration has grown into a fully functioning community with schools, businesses, and residential neighborhoods. While Disney eventually sold its stake in the town, the original design philosophy still defines the area today.
For visitors, that means you get the charm of a peaceful town right next to one of the biggest tourism destinations in the world.
Why Celebration Is Perfect for a Relaxing Getaway
Our short stay at the Inn at Celebration turned out to be exactly what we needed.
Instead of rushing between theme parks or attractions, the trip became about slowing down – walking along the lake, browsing small shops, enjoying local food, and simply relaxing together before the next big chapter of our lives begins.
For couples visiting Orlando who want something quieter than the typical resort experience, Celebration offers a completely different atmosphere.
You still have easy access to the parks, but the town itself feels calm, welcoming, and intentionally designed for peaceful moments.
And for us, that made it the perfect place for a one-night babymoon escape.
